Privacy and cookies

What we keep, and what we never touch.

Last updated 19 September 2026. We follow the GDPR and European cookie rules, and we apply the same rules to everyone, everywhere.

What we keep

  • Your photographs, only while you are using the service: they are what a Reading reads and what a Look is drawn from.
  • The Looks, Readings and wardrobe pieces you make, so they are still here when you come back.
  • Your email, only if you sign in, so your Looks can follow you between devices.
  • A payment record if you buy The Year, kept by Stripe. Your card number never reaches us.

That is the whole list. We do not ask your name, your address or your age, we do not sell or share anything, and there is no advertising on the site.

The cookies

The first is ml_v, essential: a random number that keeps your Looks attached to this browser for a year. Without it, a Look vanishes the moment you close the page, so it does not wait for consent — and it identifies nothing about you.

The rest are counters, optional: our own page counter, and Google Analytics, which tell us which pages are read so we know what to write next. They load only after you say yes in the banner, stop the moment you say no again (Google’s cookies are taken back out), and are never switched on for advertising or to follow you to another site.

You can change your answer any time with the Cookies link at the foot of every page.

How long we keep things

Your Looks, Readings and photographs stay until you delete them — we keep no copies once you do. The visitor cookie lives a year, then is forgotten. A payment record is kept as long as the tax rules make us.

Your rights, and how to use them

You can ask to see everything we hold about you, have it corrected, exported, or erased, and object to any use of it. Most of it needs no asking: the “Delete everything” button on your My Looks page erases your photographs, Looks and wardrobe on the spot. For everything else, write to mybestlook@nanocorp.app and a person answers within a few days. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your data protection authority — we would rather you wrote to us first, but the right is yours.

The companies behind the site

The site is hosted on NanoCorp’s platform, payments run through Stripe, and account sign-in is NanoCorp authentication. Each processes only what it needs to do that one job, on our instructions. Your photograph is sent to an image service to draw a Look, is not stored by it, and is never used to train anything.

Children

MyLook is not for children: we do not knowingly keep data of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has used the site, write to us and everything is erased.
